Brenda L. Simon-Zerone, 71, of Dunlevy, went to be with the Lord, August 19, 2017, after a lengthy battle with lung disease, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, with her cousin by her side. Brenda was a life Ion resident of Dunlevy. She was born, May 1, 1946, daughter of the late Genevieve M. Jacobs and Charles J. Borrello.
Brenda was a people person. She worked as a hair dresser for the most part of her life, and she also worked various other jobs. But it was with her employment through Sacred Heart Cemetery, that she felt great satisfaction in being there for other people during their difficult time of need. Brenda had also been involved in her town's political office, having served as Mayor of Dunlevy in the early 2000s. Brenda also enjoyed her grandchildren. She took great pride in her two older grandsons' successes, and during her retirement, she was able to help take full time care of her youngest granddaughter and grandson, who brought great joy to her Iife!
Brenda is survived by her husband, Vincent Charles "Chuck" Zerone ,her 2 daughters Marcy (Jamie) Schultz, of Washington, and their two sons, Jacob A. Schultz of Lancaster, PA, and Caleb M. Schultz of Washington, PA; and Marmee (Michael) Heikkila of Charleroi, and
their children; daughter, Hayden M. Heikkila, son, Lucas X. Heikkila and a step granddaughter, Jessica P. Heikkila. Brenda is also survived
by a half-sister, Maryann (AI) Cialone, of Charleroi and a cousin she was very close with, Roberta "Bobble" (Fred) Usher, of Carroll Twp.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve M. Jacobs in December of 2002. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of cousins.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday August 22, 2017 from 4pm-8pm in the Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Homes, Inc. 235 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi where funeral services will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday August 23 with Rev. JoAnn Nelson presiding. Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery.
